Valentine’s Day At One Of These Lush Bars Will Have You Loving Life

Even if you’re solo.

Whether you’re single or hooked up, there’s one key ingredient for a good Valentine’s Day: alcohol. Best make it a good drop, eh?

So, we’ve taken on the task of being your wingman and rounded up the best cool bars in Chapel Street Precinct to help you celebrate February 14, regardless of your relationship status.

The Woods

If you’re in the mood for some cool vibes, this speakeasy bar is the place to be. There are more than 80 whiskies on offer from across Scotland, Australia, America, Ireland and Japan. Take a crack at one of the whisky flights with a trio of samplings.

Leonard’s House Of Love

It’s a sign, right? It says right on the door this is the house of love – perfect for V Day. There are major 1970’s American vibes here – cold beer and fried chicken are key. There’s the blue cheese burger, south side fried chicken, the Straya burger, and vegan and veggie options to keep everyone happy. The cocktails kick things on with Daisy Duke, Proud Mary and a Purple Haze.

Yellow Bird

This bar is far from shy – it screams attention. So. Much. Colour. The “Snackin’ And Chattin’” menu is made for bants. There’s also burgers, sandwiches, and a range of Mexican eats to keep the night going. And if it’s going really well, there’s the All Day Breakfast serving numbers like Death Benedict and Billion $$$ Pancakes. Did we mention happy hour is 4 til 7pm every day? You’re welcome.

Nudge Nudge

Hint, hint – this is a winner if you like things spicy. Get stuck into their Thai Thai Bubbles, or maybe the Some Like It Hot. Those looking for something a little sweeter can down a White Chocolate and Peach Whiskey Sour, or perhaps a Kiss Kiss cocktail. There are Thai-style bites to keep you going, too.

Thirty Eight Chairs

Finish the night right with a liquid dessert. You’ll be drooling over the Salted Caramel Espresso, featuring Grey Goose vodka. Beautiful Italian food meets a gorgeous wine list, including a selection of ports and sherries.
