After nearly a two year hiatus, Zach Galafianakis has brought back his iconic ‘Funny or Die’ interview series Between Two Ferns. In episode 21, our host is thrilled to have “international superstar” Cardi B between his ferns, while Jerry Seinfeld receives a much less enthusiastic welcome.
The hilarious 6-minute interview opens with Galafianakis complaining to his crew about the irrelevance of his comedian guest while Jerry Seinfeld sits beside him.
“I had president Hilary Clinton on last time, now I have this guy. It’s like ‘WHO CARES?’”
The warm welcome is just the beginning of the thorough roasting Jerry Seinfeld receives on the show.
“You know that movie made – Bee Movie? Don’t you think it should have been D Minus Movie?” Galafianakis throws at Seinfeld.
Seinfeld comes back with a jab at The Hangover, “Do you think you destroyed what could have been a ‘comedy classic’ by the cash-grab of two and three?”
It’s cold-blooded verbal warfare, until Cardi B arrives.
Cardi B, the queen that she is, gets the royal treatment that she deserves.
“I’m special”, Cardi B coos after receiving a gift.
“You are special,” Galifianakis agrees, “but the most important thing is that you’re relevant.”
Meanwhile Jerry Seinfeld is less than stoked and complains that he’s not even between the ferns anymore. Poor Jerry.
“When I do a show called To The Right Of A Fern, you’ll be the first to know.” Galifianakis quips. “But right now it’s Cardi B and I trying to get to know each other.”
