Following Avengers: Endgame, where we saw Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel interacting with present day heroes, fans have been asking for Captain Marvel to team up and couple up with Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie and it seems Marvel is taking note.

Captain Marvel directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck spoke to CinemaBlend about the potential for the two heroes pairing up and whether it’s something they’d want to see. And like everyone else, their answer is yes.
Fleck said, “There’s been a lot of… look, I have no idea what the plans are for the future. But the speculation online about Carol and Valkyrie teaming up, I think, is a pretty cool, pretty cool idea.”
With Boden adding, “She’s one of my favorite women of Marvel.”
If Boden and Fleck are chosen to direct Captain Marvel 2, it does sound promising that Valkyrie will make an appearance. If it doesn’t happen in the sequel, we just hope it’s only a matter of time before the heroes pair up.
ComicBook.com spoke to Captain Marvel producer Mary Livanos and it seems she’s also getting excited about the idea of pair teaming up.
“There’s the Brie Tessa Thompson love going on online which is fun to see.”
“It’s so charming and so fun to see the actor’s themselves get excited about the potential mashup so that as a creative makes you start thinking.”
We don’t want to get too excited too early, but this could really be happening!
Tessa has previously taken to Twitter to reveal Valkyrie in the films is, indeed, bisexual like she is in the comics.

Thompson revealed in a profile in Rolling Stone she asked Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi to give her a scene where a woman walks out of Valkyrie’s bedroom, however, it eventually had to be cut.
While that scene got cut, Thompson did reveal there’s a subtle moment in the film alluding to Valkyrie’s love for another woman in a flashback scene where Cate Blanchett’s Goddess of Death murders the rest of Valkyrie’s clan.
She said, “There’s a great shot of me falling back from one of my sisters who’s just been slain. In my mind, that was my lover.”
Brie Larson has also shown enthusiasm for the MCU to include more LGBTQ representation and Marvel’s casting director Sarah Halley Finn recently said it is their priority to increase representation.
“You’re gonna see even more new faces — and faces from all different backgrounds, all ages, all ethnicities, LGBTQ, people who are differently abled.”
If this is the case, Phase 4 of the Marvel films is looking to be pretty damn good!
