Walter White Officially Died In The Breaking Bad Finale, Let's Move On Already

How is his fate not obvious?

Despite Walter White clearly descending to the flames of hell at the Breaking Bad finale, fans of the TV show are adamant that Heisenberg escaped death’s embrace and will cook meth with his ol’ pal Jesse Pinkman again or something once he gets better.

For those who need a recap on the finale, Walt sustains a gunshot wound after taking down the evil Neo-Nazis holding Jesse prisoner. After Jesse escapes in an El Camino, Walt enters the Neo-Nazi’s meth lab, looks fondly on various bits of equipment before collapsing on the ground, dead.

Walt clearly meets the grim reaper in the Breaking Bad finale yet fans insist that he’s still alive through various convoluted explanations, such as everything all being a dream and the lack of a dead body and/or autopsy signifying that Heisenberg is still alive somewhere.

The theories are completely ridiculous – he clearly gets shot for god’s sake and he’s still dying from cancer – yet the whole “Walter White is alive” theory got so much fuel that it still persists today. Hell, it’s gotten so out of hand that even Bryan Cranston played along with it because of course he would.

Well folks, it’s time to retire that dumb fan theory and finally – FINALLY – move on because Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan has officially confirmed Walt’s fate.

Appearing on The Rich Eisen Show to promote the show’s sequel film, El Camino: A Breaking Bad Story, Vince laid it all out so bluntly that should convince even most crazed Walter White fan:

“Yes, Walter White is dead. Yes.”

Boom.

There you have it, please can we move onto something else now and disregard any more fan theories or Bryan Cranston pot-stirring comments on the topic?

Having said all that, there’s a chance we’ll see Walter White in El Camino: A Breaking Bad Story. If the trailers are anything to go by, there’s a possibility Heisenberg will show up in one or more of Jesse Pinkman’s flashbacks.

And yes, he’ll still be dead.

It’s been years since the Breaking Bad finale and here’s hoping Vince Gilligan’s official confirmation of Walter White’s fate means he can finally rest in peace (or in his case burn in the flames of hell since he’s such a horrible monster) and we can finally move on from this.
