Marvel Releases Poster For Black Widow And Reveals The First Look At Red Guardian

It looks so good!

A Black Widow concept art poster has been released at Disney’s D23 Expo and showcases Natasha Romanoff’s (Scarlett Johansson) new costume as well as the first look at Red Guardian (David Harbour) and the new villain Taskmaster.

The movie, which is set for release on May 1, 2020, started filming earlier this year and was only officially confirmed at Comic-Con last month.

It’s believed the movie is set between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War and will focus on Natasha going head-to-head with the Red Room program that trained her to be an assassin.

The film also stars Florence Pugh and Rachel Weisz, who also play Black Widows from the program and are named Yelena Belova and Melina Vostokoff. David Harbour plays Red Guardian – basically the Soviet version of Captain America.

At this stage, we know Taskmaster is the main villain, but we don’t know who has been cast in the role.

Without a trailer, the poster gives us our first look at the characters in costume.

Andy Park, Marvel Studios Director of Visual Development, shared the poster on Instagram and wrote, “BLACK WIDOW!!! Official D23 poster I had the honor of painting.

“This character is very near & dear to me since this is like the gazillionth time I’ve concept designed/painted this iconic Avenger. What a cast, what a crew, this is gonna be a good one!”

Natasha is featured prominently at the front, then Yelena and Red Guardian are beside her with the other Black Widows and Taskmaster is seen above.

Fans were excited to get their first glimpse at the poster, taking to Twitter to share their thoughts:

Andy also shared another image of Black Widow and Taskmaster fighting, showing a little more of the villain.

Those who attended D23 were shown a short clip from the film, so hopefully, that becomes available for those of us who couldn’t attend as well.
