A Pic Of Beyonce Is Heading To The Smithsonian Which Is Exactly Where It Should Be

She is the art.

There are many things that inspire wonder in this world but nothing quite like Beyoncé. She might not be related to The Queen but she’s definite royalty and I’m convinced that she bleeds gold.

In another life Beyoncé was definitely an angel and, in this life, she’s the unofficial eighth wonder of the world.

Long story short, Beyoncé is the embodiment of all things amazing.

Now she is going to be immortalised forever in one of the world’s most popular museums: the Smithsonian.

Tyler Mitchell’s historic Vogue photo of Beyoncé has found a home at the National Portrait Gallery in Washington.

The gallery is just as excited to add Bey’s portrait to their huge collection, tweeting about the news.

“Our mission is to tell the story of America by portraying the people who shape this nation’s history, development, and culture. We are happy to work with Tyler to acquire his photograph of Beyoncé Knowles into the Portrait Gallery’s collection,”the National Portrait Gallery shared on Twitter.

But this isn’t the first portrait of Beyoncé the gallery has acquired. For a long time now her Crazy In Love cover has been kept in the museum.

Can I blame them for wanting more Beyoncé? Not even a little bit.

Bey isn’t the first and only celeb to be included in the National Portrait Gallery

The gallery’s collection include paintings of historical figures like John F. Kennedy, statues of icons like Rosa Parks, and photographs of revolutionaries such as Steve Jobs and actors like Brad Pitt.

Yep, our girl is definitely keeping good company.

If you ask me (which you’re not but I’m going to tell you anyway), they should have a life-size sculpture of Beyoncé specially made and displayed in all of the Smithsonian’s museums.

She herself is the art and deserves some serious appreciation.
