With the news that Robert Pattinson has been officially confirmed as our new Batman, there were a lot of fanboys and girls who were unhappy with the casting because they only see RPatz as Edward Cullen in the Twilight films.
What? Robert Pattinson as the new Batman????

Can’t believe that Robert Pattinson is going to be Batman, he doesn’t fit the role in any way, not sure what they were thinking when casting him ??♀️

I'm willing to bet even Robert Pattinson is confused as to why he's the new Batman.

Deadline reports it was between Nicholas Hoult and Pattinson and the studio was so torn as to who should get the role they decided to conduct screen tests in the Batsuit to help make their decision.
BATMAN UPDATE: Robert Pattinson & Nicholas Hoult are screen testing for the role. I suspect they're screen testing in the Batsuit because Wardrobe Department will need full wardrobe test. Additionally, the film will now start production in Q1 2020.? pic.twitter.com/eekafrqomL

While most people remember Pattinson from his Twilight days, the man has made seriously good choices with roles in challenging indie films since finishing up as Edward Cullen in 2012.
Pattinson received rave reviews for Good Times, with the Hollywood Reporter comparing his performance to Al Pacino’s in Dog Day Afternoon.
For every one fanboy who doubts Pattinson can pull off the performance as Batman, there are so many more who have faith in the star, because they’ve actually seen his recent work.
Y’all criticizing Robert Pattinson as Batman having not seen a movie of his in the past 10 years pic.twitter.com/6cGYyMCO71

Robert Pattinson is a 6’1”, 33 year-old man. He is not a teen. He does not sparkle. He is extremely intelligent & selects his roles with care. The only way he would even consider Batman is because of the director and a great script.

Good Time is as good as people say. Believe the hype that Robert Pattinson has the acting chops to pull off Bruce Wayne and Batman. ?

Hot take on Robert Pattinson: after Twilight, he could have had an easy career of flattering roles. Instead, he's mostly gone for unusual material with interesting people. So consider me PSYCHED for what this Batman might be.

If you need more convincing check out these films:
Cosmopolis (2012)
The Rover (2014)
The Lost City of Z (2016)
Good Time (2017)
Damsel (2018)
High Life (2018)
Pattinson is currently receiving rave reviews and Oscars buzz for his latest film The Lighthouse, which was recently shown at the Cannes Film Festival.
Robert Eggers' The Lighthouse is utterly incredible. I was on the Pattinson Is Great trail before most (because I'm super clever about these things), but he's even better here. Best roles of their careers for him and Dafoe.

Avast! The Lighthouse has left me woozy with shaking sea legs. A swirling descent into madness, with two mezmirizing performances from Pattinson and Dafoe. By far the best film to screen at Cannes so far.

Holy! Monkey pump! Hell! And you thought The Witch was good, ye ain't seen nuthin' yet. The Lighthouse is on a whole other level. Extraordinary!! Might just be Robert Pattinson's best performance yet. #Cannes2019

I don’t know about you, but I’m very excited to see what RPatz does with his newest role.
