You Just Know That Tom Holland Is Itching To Spoil The Rumoured Marvel-Sony Negotiations

After all, he's your friendly neighbourhood spoiler-man.

If there’s one thing we know about Tom Holland it’s that he’s a dude that just loves to spoil things.

The man is incapable of keeping a secret, to the point where Marvel literally did not give him a script for Avengers: Endgame on the very reasonable grounds that he’d recite the whole thing in an interview.

He gave away Infinity War spoilers, he gave away Spider-Man: Far From Home spoilers, and he’s even giving Endgame spoilers months after the film came out. That’s how much he enjoys it.

And supposedly the reportedly-settled no-deal between Disney (who own Marvel) and Sony (who own Spider-Man) has reopened with the (fairly reputable) @77MCU account claiming that a) negotiations are still afoot and that b) Holland was gagged from mentioning that during his recent press tours.

Now, it’s worth mentioning that this sounds unlikely, not least because it would suggest that Holland can not reveal secrets when told – and experience has shown that’s just not in his skill set.

In any case, there are two more Spider-Man films on the Sony slate with Holland playing the role and Jon Watts directing (as per the Marvel films). but not with any Marvel input.

You know, unless Disney cough up the rumoured $10 billion that Sony want for the Spidey-rights. That’s… that’s a lot. Although not a crazy amount for a company like Disney, especially since they own the merch rights to the character which is worth orders of magnitude more than the staggeringly profitable films make. We’re in the wrong business, you and I.

Artists’ impression.

Still, we’re sure that this battle between two corporate behemoths arguing over unimaginable amounts of money will continue as we wish and hope and pray that a deal comes to pass.

And when that day comes, you just know that Tom Holland will gleefully spoil it.
