The Avengers Cast Thought They Were Attending A Wedding For Final Endgame Scene

In case this movie wasn't sad enough...

Warning: Contains spoilers for Avengers: Endgame, obviously…

When Avengers: Endgame was being shot, many precautions were taken to ensure the movie wasn’t spoiled by anyone working on it.

For example, directors Anthony and Joe Russo confirmed Robert Downey Jr was the only actor given the full script for the film, whereas other actors like Benedict Cumberbatch and Tom Holland were only given their lines.

Now, Sebastian Stan, AKA Bucky Barnes/the Winter Soldier, has opened up about how the cast was kept so in the dark they didn’t realise they were shooting Tony Stark’s funeral scene until they were on set.

During an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Stan was asked if he knew what he’d be shooting for the film beforehand and the actor revealed he would get to set and find out then what he’d be filming that day.

“I was told that there was a wedding that we were filming. And I was like, ‘Who’s getting married?’ But everybody was dressed very formal and I was looking around and two people weren’t there.”

Trying not to spoil anything, he sheepishly went on to say:

“I was looking around and two people weren’t there. So I guess that was the bride and the groom. But that’s what it was. It was a wedding. You saw the movie, right? It was a wedding.”

So, the cast who weren’t there to see that Tony and Natasha Romanoff didn’t survive, found out while the cameras were rolling.

OK, now I’m crying…
