Bucky Knew About Captain America's Fate In Endgame The Whole Time So The Conspiracies Are Confirmed

And now we're crying.

At the end of Avengers: Endgame Captain America surprised everyone when he went back in time to return the Infinity Stones and stayed in the past with the love of his life Peggy Carter, appearing at the end of the film as ‘Old Steve’.

In the scene we see Cap leave to return the stones and, as we saw earlier on in the film, he should return from the time travel sequence basically straight away. But he doesn’t.

Sam Wilson AKA Falcon is clearly very concerned and demands that Bruce Banner brings him back.

However, Bucky, Steve’s lifelong bestie, is calm and doesn’t seem at all worried that his friend hasn’t returned. This led many fans to believe that Steve had told Bucky his plan to be with Peggy before he left.

Now, we finally have confirmation, because according to Comicbook.com, the film’s DVD and Blu-ray commentary reveal Bucky knew all along.

As Bucky and Steve hug goodbye, co-director Joe Russo says, “Now clearly Bucky knows something here, right?” I’m not going to lie, it seems weird for the director to be asking this question about his own film, but anyway…

Writer Stephen McFeely responds, “Yeah, I think it’s clear from Sebastian’s performance here. He’s been clued into Steve’s decision.”

“Why [else] would Bucky say, ‘I’m gonna miss you.’ Especially if it’s only going to be five seconds?”

Russo agrees, “Yeah, he knows,” adding, “Now, we don’t know the extent of what Steve told him, but clearly he told him something.”

McFeely continues, “Yeah, I don’t think he said, ‘I’ll go sit on the bench over there.'”

“I think he’s certainly surprised to see that [part].”

So, while he might not have expected to see his friend looking like a grandpa, he certainly knew his plans.

And now we, and probably a lot of Stucky fans, are crying all over again.
