Let’s be honest, we’ve all noticed one or a few plot holes while watching a Marvel movie, however, this Avengers: Endgame deleted scene brings up a huge one for Captain America.
We get it, Marvel has made a lot of movies, and it would be hard to solve every single plot hole, but this one is just funny.
According to ScreenRant, in the deleted scene, James ‘Rhodey’ Rhodes (Don Cheadle) and Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) are trying to figure out which moments in time they should travel to in order to find the Infinity Stones before Thanos.
Rhodey asks Steve about the Tesseract and he responds saying it was at the bottom of the ocean after he crashed the plan in order to neutralise the bombs on board (which we see at the end of Captain America: The First Avenger). But then Rhodey asks a very important question – why didn’t Captain America just jump out of the plane?
In Captain America: Winter Soldier, we see Steve easily jump out of a plane without a parachute into the ocean, which had fans wondering why he didn’t save himself in the first movie.
However, when you think about it, jumping out of a stable plane is very different to jumping out of one that’s hurtling towards the ground at full speed, so we do kind of get it. Cap decided the best way to save lives was to crash the plane into the water with the Tesseract and bombs on board.
Also, it was a plot detail that made it possible for him to come back and lead the Avengers.
It’s understandable why the filmmakers decided to leave the scene out of the movie, while it’s a fun moment, the last thing the MCU needs is more plot holes.
So, let’s just sweep that one under the rug shall we?
