Pete Davidson’s Real Talk About His Break Up With Ariana Grande Is The Official Closure This Whole Mess Needs

No bad blood here.

The Pete Davidson/Ariana Grande relationship-turned-engagement-turned-break-up drama seems to have finally come to a peaceful end.

We went from Davidson breaking the ice with rather sad self-deprecating jokes about the break up, to a more insensitive joke that verged on the point of milking it and prompted a beautifully messy reaction from Ariana Grande, AKA, dragging him on Twitter.

But on Sunday Ariana Grande released a new track ‘Thank u, next’, that explicitly references her past relationships, including Pete, with the message that she’s grateful for all her ex’s. Wholesome and peaceful stuff from an absolute Queen.

And now Pete Davidson has actually given a mature response about the break up while on SNL. It’s a sensitive statement without a punchline, which is rare for the show, and it feels like the closure this whole mess needed.

“The last thing I will say is I know some of you are curious about the breakup, but the truth is, it’s nobody’s business, and sometimes things just don’t work out. And that’s okay,” Davidson said.

“She’s a wonderful, strong person, and I genuinely wish her all the happiness in the world.”

It sounds like the situation is being handled now without bad blood or bitterness, and Pete Davidson even signed off with the quip that, “I’m still a great song, though.”

Very true.
