Aretha Franklin’s Funeral Has The Most Legendary Line-Up Of Celebrities Scheduled To Honour The Late Icon Because She Knows How To Go Out In Style

A shining gold casket, a different designer outfit for each day of open casket and a better funeral line-up than Coachella - show them how it’s done Aretha.

Since the recent death of Aretha Franklin, tributes have been pouring out world-wide for the Queen of Soul. But nothing can compare to the line-up of friends and fellow-celebrities that are scheduled to honour the late legend at her funeral.

It is one of the grandest gatherings of talent, and one of the biggest celebrations of black artists specifically, which is only fitting for someone who has been as significant to music and black representation as Aretha Franklin.

The service is being held today in Franklin’s hometown of Detroit and follows multiple days of open casket viewing. Aretha Franklin is resting in a solid bronze Promethean casket plated in 24-carat gold, and has had designer costume changes for each day of the viewing.

Multiple pairs of Christian Louboutin heels have featured to match outfits of red tule and beaded lace.

Aretha Franklin is a queen and an icon and even in death will look as such.

Today’s funeral service is set to go for six and a half hours and it’s going to be action-packed.

Among the long list of performers we have fellow music legend Stevie Wonder, who was a longtime friend of Franklin’s and one of the last people to visit her before she passed.

Ariana Grande was also invited to perform following her emotional tribute to Franklin on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon for which she sang ‘Natural Woman’.

Jennifer Hudson, who Franklin apparently personally chose to play her in a biopic about her life, is also performing.

The epic line-up goes on and on, including Franklin’s friend, legendary recording artist, and official Queen of Funk, Chaka Khan, Country singer Faith Hill, Fantasia, Yolanda Adams, Jennifer Holliday, Ronald Isley, a number of gospel singers as well as Franklin’s son Edward.

Among the numerous people speaking in her honour there will be former president Bill Clinton, Clive Davis and Smokey Robinson. It’s going to be a big day.
