Here’s the scenario: you’re in a chaotic game of Apex Legends, it’s down to the last handful of players, and your opponent manages to take you down at the last second. Knowing that a miracle revive isn’t coming as the rest of your team is already at the pearly gates, all you can do is watch helplessly as your victorious opponent gloats over your body.
It’s a bit of a pickle that many Apex players have found themselves in and it’s not a particularly good feeling knowing that you’re as useless as a rock when you’re downed.
Luckily, a vocal Apex Legends fan has come up with the perfect solution that will help downed players feel somewhat useful just before the grim reaper comes while managing to not upset the game’s delicate balancing: ankle-biting.
Just let us munch on them ankles!
In a brilliant thread that was started by a fan over at the Apex Legends subreddit, the ankle-biting feature came about because they were sick of being “useless” and just want to “monch an ankle” for minuscule amounts of health in the seconds before death takes them.
And you know what? They have a good point.
Less-skilled players shouldn’t be made to feel useless and allowing them to sink their teeth into their opponent’s juicy, exposed ankle is the perfect way to motivate people to keep fighting until the bitter end. It would also be nice to get a little bit of comeuppance when your weakened opponent decides to gloat over you in victory, only to be taken down with a well-timed chomp on the ankle.
This much-wanted feature would also introduce an extra level of strategy into Apex Legends as the current main strategy is to camp downed players and pick off their teammates. People will think twice about standing next to a downed player who will bite at your ankles like a rabid dog.

Now it remains to be seen if Respawn Entertainment will add ankle-biting to Apex Legends as there’s yet to be a response, but we’ve got our fingers crossed that it comes because it is the feature the every player deserves.
Plus the thought of Pathfinder cheerfully shouting “om nom nom” is simply too good of an opportunity to pass up.
