A Christmas Prince Star Rose McIver Knows The Movies Are Bad, And She Is Absolutely Living For The Reviews

"Should I start my awards campaign now?"

Netflix’s super-cheesy, formulaic Christmas romcoms are fast becoming a new festive tradition. This year, we have so many – The Princess Switch, The Holiday Calendar, something my algorithm keeps showing me called Christmas Wedding Planner that appears to have Serena’s mum from Gossip Girl in it… And it’s all because last year, we all fell in love with A Christmas Prince, a glorious, surreal masterpiece of paint-by-numbers dumbness.

Everyone loved it so much even Vanessa Hudgens’ character in The Princess Switch watched it (and cried). Now that’s corporate synergy!

Everyone loved it so much, in fact, that we now have a sequel, Christmas Prince 2: The Royal Wedding.

And if you were wondering whether the films’ star Rose McIver – a Kiwi actress best known for playing a much more believable role as an undead crime-solving medical examiner on iZombie – knows she’s in a new classic of so-bad-it’s-good, the answer is yes.

In fact, she’s loving it.

She cannot get enough of reviews affectionately roasting the heck out of her movies.

You have to love her for not only making these movies, but fully embracing what they are: bad.

Also for this video, because you should never forget how adorable she is with her natural accent:

You haven’t lived until you’ve heard her say the movie’s title with those Kiwi vowels. You’re wilcome.
